What is Shiatsu?

In a Shiatsu treatment, the practitioner, with their fingers, palms, elbows and knees applies pressure, releasing their weight onto the main points of the Meridians of the person receiving the treatment.

Through Shiatsu, the body restores its correct and natural flow of Chi, helping to prevent illness.

Shiatsu promotes calm and serenity where there is stress, tension and discomfort. Shiatsu recharges and revitalises when there is energy lost.

Shiatsu isn’t meant to replace medical or physiotherapy treatment, but it can be effective with migraines, neck pain, sciatica, lower back pain, insomnia and discomfort relating to your breathing, digestion menstruation and menopause.

Shiatsu helps you become aware of your body, so you can listen to it, and understand what you need.

Shiatsu welcomes you.

Shiatsu is all about making you comfortable.

  • We start your first session by talking to you, getting to know your needs, your issues, and what you need out of Shiatsu.

  • A Shiatsu treatment won’t have you undressing or worrying about messy massage oils. You’ll wear light, breathable clothing.

  • Safety is taken very seriously. Treatments take place in a safe, clean environment, and your practitioner is qualified in first aid.
